Formula 1 is incredibly exciting from every angle on and off-track. It is exciting to watch the one-lap performance in qualifying, the overtakes, the pitstops, and the teams’ strategies during the race. It is truly exhilarating to see the best drivers in the world leaving the pitlane and driving their cars, each was built by around 1000-1500 people in the factory with the latest technology, and with constant upgrades. Similarly exciting the business side of it, to follow the drivers’ market, -which driver signs to which teams, -the marketing management, and the logistics. Similarly sensational and inspiring to watch the drivers delivering their best performance week after week, the consistency, the restrictive diet they follow, their training, being politically correct in the media pen, and the sharp mental focus they have on the track.
From an astrological perspective, the most mind-blowing part of Formula 1 is to see that those 20 drivers do the same thing. They sit in a slightly similar car, consistently bringing brilliant performance while fulfilling their different life destinies as it is written in their natal charts.
That is no coincidence that one becomes a world champion or wins even multiple championships while other drivers are glad if they have a few podium finishes throughout their F1 career. All of them are successful, all of them are incredibly hardworking, but they all walk on different paths of life.
This is an unbiased astrological analysis of the current Formula 1 drivers and some team principals’ natal charts. No prior astrology knowledge is needed on your end to fully understand F1 from an astrological perspective.

Without diving deep into the astrological terms and meaning, this time let’s just focus on the Sun, Ascendant, and Moon signs– the big three of the drivers.
The Virgo-born drivers
To my mind, following the career path of the Virgo-born drivers – Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Virgo- is the most interesting from an astrological point of view- and heartbreaking too.
In a nutshell, people with Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Virgo are walking on a path to learn to be humble, to be even submissive, and to purify their souls. And guess what? The drivers with Virgo placements find themselves in such situations that they have no other choice but to master being humble, being the most hardworking of all, and obeying the team orders.
The other main lesson for Virgo people is to constantly perfect their crafts, their skills, and their performance – and face the harsh truth that most of the time it is still not enough.
Virgo people are on the quest to become more modest, submissive, and humble.
That is no surprise that the talented, Finish driver, Valtteri Bottas has a Virgo Sun. For many years he had one of the most competitive and strongest teammates- Lewis Hamilton- mostly he could not beat him on track, but when he could he had to be submissive and follow the team orders to let his teammate win, who was fighting for the WDC.
Can you imagine how it feels if you dedicate your whole life to race and once you get into F1 – the pinnacle of motorsports- you are told that you can’t race with your teammate?
From an astrological perspective, this is the perfect way for him to purify his soul, to learn to be humble and modest.
The other Virgo-Sun driver is the very popular Carlos Sainz, who was the only non-Red Bull-driver race winner in 2023, still he “got fired” from Ferrari because Hamilton takes his seat in 2025. Even though Carlos Sainz outperformed his teammates in 2023, his teammate could extend his contract for 5 more years with Ferrari. What a humbling situation it is…
The Virgo-Ascendant Fernando Alonso who already won 2 WDCs he faced some humbling situations back in 2007 when his then-rookie teammate could beat him on track.
Capricorn- climbs to the top where no one else can
The career and social status-oriented Capricorn people are like the mountain goat that can climb up a vertical wall, in the most restrictive circumstances– no food, no water- by measuring every step it takes and eventually reaches the top where no one else can go up, that is safe from the predators, figurately speaking. Btw as every Zodiac sign is associated with animals, the sign Capricorn rules the mountain goat…
That is no surprise that the two most successful drivers in F1 history both have Capricorn-Sun. Michael Schumacher was the first one who won 7 world championships and set records for most race wins, and most pole positions. The other one who is still racing and could fight for more championships is Lewis Hamilton, who could even break Schumacher’s records.
You might think to yourself, are they- Schumacher and Hamilton- the most hardworking of all? Are they the most driven and ambitious drivers? Or are they willing to make the most restrictions and sacrifices? Maybe.
The truth is those championships didn’t fall into their laps, and they had to earn to drive the most competitive cars. But this is the Capricorn energy, reaching the goal no matter what it takes.
And I must mention the two most successful team principals currently on the grid. One is the Capricorn-Sun Toto Wolff, who is a Taurus Ascendant- so he is there for the money obviously. And the Red Bull team principal Christian Horner- Capricorn Ascendant- has been behind the incredible success of his team for almost two decades.
The happy-go-lucky Sagittarius
The 3x world champion and title defender Max Verstappen is a Sagittarius Ascendant. He is said to be such a unique talent that born only once in a decade. And his Ascendant ruler- Jupiter- is in Aquarius, in his 3rd house.
Simply put, people with Aquarius placement often show great talent in something as a child. Moreover, the 3rd house talks about driving and it is associated with vehicles. That is no doubt that Verstappen has shown incredible talent since he was 4 or 5 years old, and his talent was to drive fast his kart and now his racing car- 3rd house. Also, he has Uranus- that speeds up everything it touches- in the 3rd house too. So, he is a fast driver indeed, but it shows that his car is incredibly fast too…
Talking about a happy-go-lucky Sagittarius Ascendant, who is walking on a path to experience some very fortunate events and circumstances. To what extent he is fortunate and to what extent do his skills and incredible talent matter? I let you judge that.
The path of Aquarius
The intelligent and quick-minded George Russel has Aquarius Sun in his natal chart and is currently driving for Mercedes, one of the most successful teams on the grid.
The path of Aquarius is fairly interesting. A lot of Aquarius shows great talent at a young age. The other interesting element of their lives is that they can have sudden elevation to fame, to success, to high positions, and similarly quick downfall can follow.
I have observed that Aquarius Sun- and most of the time Moon and Ascendant there- experience ego-undermining situations.
What has happened to George Russel? He was and still is a promising driver, who signed to Mercedes when it was the most dominant team- won 8 WCC in a row- and once he arrived there the team could not provide him with a competitive car. In other words, he could rise high in his career- being the teammate of Lewis Hamilton and driving for Mercedes- but still had no car to fight for a win, let alone a championship.
Those who have planets in the Leo-Aquarius axis experience some not only ego-undermining situations but situations that deeply hurt their pride- so to speak.
Nevertheless, I personally still believe he is one of those drivers who are champion materials.
It is a Scorpio sport
Every Zodiac sign is associated with some sports. To my mind, F1 carries the essence of the Scorpio Zodiac sign.
Firstly, it requires laser focus- that is the strong suit of Scorpio and people with strong Pluto placement. It is intense, and it can be a life or death situation- not all the time, but it happens, it is all about strategy, strategy, and more strategy. How many times the race is won by a good strategy and not by pure performance? Btw Socpro rules strategy… The drivers are daredevils, know no fear, and take calculated risks- that is also a typical Scorpio energy.
The Metazodiac of Scorpio
The partners, or sponsors are the wealthiest people in the world- as Scorpio has Taurus– associated with wealthy people- in the 7th house– rules contractual partnerships and business partnerships.
The 6th sign from Scorpio is Aries. The 6th sign/house rules enemies, competitors, and work environment, while Aries is the most competitive sign, it is fearless too. So the work environment is to be bold, take risks, and fight- the typical Aries domains.
The 3rd sign from Scorpio is Capricorn. The 3rd is to drive, and also it is associated with communication, media, and social media. The F1 drivers are all media-trained– measure their words- Capricorn energy- and funny enough they have to answer the same questions over and over again. Well, Capricorn rules repetitions.
Also, Capricorn’s placement in the chart is one of the career indicators. So, in the 3rd house, it can indicate a career with 3rd house domains. Such as driving, in the media, and the F1 careers include a lot of short traveling around the world.
Scorpio has Leo-the royal sign that rules kings and queens- in the 10th house– reputation and social status. Formula1 has the reputation of being the most elite motorsport, the most prestigious that draws A-list celebrities and other prominent people from all around the world.
Final thoughts
Formula 1 has so many aspects that one can be enthusiastic about. But what is more fascinating to see is that even though the drivers most probably have similar training routines, diets, cars, pedigree, they are hardworking to the same extent, still at the end of the day their lives are different. They all fulfill their own destiny in different ways. Every life has a different purpose. This is the reason why comparing your life to others does not make sense. As every natal chart is different, every path of life is different, and everyone is needed and probably that is the beauty of life, we are all different with different lives.
